It's not every day our players win a National competition but hot on the heels of Paddy McKenna, Sean Christanseen and the Kildare Senior hurlers success in this year's Christy Ring Cup we had our next group of up and coming hurlers claiming national honours with the Kildare U16s in the Celtic Challenge Cup final - Corn Tom Hogan.

Daniel Colbert, Shane Henry and Paddy Connolly lined out for the Kildare Lilywhites last Saturday in Abbottstown at the GAA's National Development Centre and put in a super performance to help Kildare to victory over Wicklow Gold Minor hurlers. There were some great passages of play from the Lilywhites with heads up hurling on display throughout as well as lots of hooks, blocks and some great fielding - a testament to the coaches who are doing great work with the lads.

You can watch a short highlights clip of some of our own lads contributions on our Clane GAA YouTube channel - click here. Read the press report - click here.

The match was also streamed live on GAA Now and you can watch the full match replay on the official GAA YouTube Channel - click here.

We also had 3 players who lined out for the Kildare Cadets team in the competition who were narrowly defeated in the Semi-Final. Congrats to Diarmuid Finn, Tadhg O'Donoghue and James O'Donoghue.

The 2022 Kildare Lilywhites with the Celtic Challenge - Corn Tom Hogan cup. Congratulations to the team and management.
