Our u12s visited Celbridge last Wednesday evening to play the 1st round of the Seanie Barber cup. This was a new experience to the boys as it was the first time they had played 15-a-side on a near full size adult pitch. It turned onto a real battle as both sides had to adapt to the new environment and the gale force winds. It was a close game throughout; in the 1st half Clane defended well and worked hard to keep the scores level at half time. In the 2nd half Clane started well and picked off some nice scores early on but this didn't deter Celbridge who kept attacking and our defense although put under a lot of pressure stood firm. It was a very good learning experience for both teams and we can be very proud of our young men who worked tirelessly throughout.

Clane were pushed all the way but in the end ran out 6 point winners by 2-9 to 1-6. They now face Sarsfields in Conneff Park next Wednesday. The standard will be raised yet again and our boys will have to step up to the challenge which we are in no doubt they will.
