Many thanks to all who attended our online information sessions this week. In case you missed it the head of our capital development committee Anthony O'Dea was interviewed on RTE News yesterday regarding the affect the pandemic is having on GAA clubs and in particular to our own club development. The plans for your club are ambitious but with your support we can make this happen!

Our village is growing, and we have experienced significant growth in our Club with a consequent increase in the number of teams we field. This has put enormous pressure on our facilities, which we have managed to date with the support of the local schools. However, with the development plans in place for Clane we now need to expand to meet this organic growth.

We have been fortunate to acquire 4 acres of land adjacent to our current pitches and we have ambitious development plans to benefit our Club members and the local community for years to come. Phase 1 of this plan, with an associated cost of c.€400k, is a Championship standard flood lit sand-based sports field & two juvenile pitches with a walking track & toilet facility. We have succeeded so far in raising over €100k and our plan had been to commence works in Spring 2020. Unfortunately, COVID-19 interrupted these plans and our capacity to borrow the additional money required.

We need to proceed, given the timelines involved to completion, so along with our regular fundraising activities, we are appealing to our member families asking those who can, to contribute €1,000 or best effort towards the development. A €1,000 donation enables the club to maximise tax benefits and enables us to claim an additional 20-40% from the Revenue Commissioners. We have arranged loan facilities with the Credit Union in Clane should you wish to avail of these which will allow our members to repay as little as €4 per week over 5 years.

We plan on acknowledging all contributors with an ‘appreciation wall’ incorporated into the facilities development and if your business or company would be in a position to discuss sponsorship with us there are a number of packages available for this also. We would really appreciate if you were able to help us progress our Club and create the facility that will help our young adults and children for many years to come.
