On Wednesday last our U12 Footballers beat Round Towers in a very tough encounter at Conneff Park in the Seanie Barber League Division 1 semi-final. Clane started well and went 7 points to 2 up after 15 mins; our backs were in top form and stopped many an attack while our midfield were linking up well with the forwards. Round Towers were stung into action at the start of the 2nd half and threw everything at Clane. However, Clane held their nerve and defended superbly to maintain their lead with both teams exchanging a few goals. It was a great learning experience for the players and the physical encounter will stand to them. They have now qualified for the Seanie Barber Division 1 Cup final which takes place this Sunday against Sarsfields. The venue is Manguard Plus Hawkfield Pitch 1 with an 11:45am throw-in. Best of luck boys!!
Our U13s will also face Round Towers in their League Division 1 Semi-Final with a throw in at 7pm on Saturday evening in Kildare. Best of luck to the team and management.
Our young U15's played St. Laurences in the Division 2 Shield Semi-Final at Conneff Park earlier this evening narrowly losing out by 5 points. The Clane side is mainly comprised of U14s and they have done very well against some big and experienced U15 sides from across the county, recording some fine wins and playing some great football. Well done to the team and management.
Our U16 Football kick off their championship away to Maynooth, followed by a home fixture against Sallins.
We are delighted to announce that Clane have retained Senior Camogie status for 2019. The teams first match will be a tough one away to Johnstownbridge next Thursday, July 25th at 7.30pm. Best of luck ladies!
Our Junior Footballers have 2 teams playing championship this year at Reserve A and Reserve D grades with both competitions well underway. See the web site and ClubZap for full fixture details.
Reminder to all team coaches and mentors to please add your fixtures and results to ClubZap so the information gets published on our web site and our members are kept up to date. If you need help, please contact our club PRO, James Henry.
Please try to get out and support our teams - they train hard and your support means a lot!!
