Clane V Moorfield
These two teams served up a great game of Camogie and although Moorefield girls showed some lovely individual skills Clane were stronger all around the field and ran out convincing winners in the end. Their proud captain Grania Martin led her team up the steps to collect the inaugural Feile B trophy.

Well done to the Clane U12 Ladies football team on their great win in the final of the Kildare County Community games. They defeated the reigning All-Ireland champions, Ballykelly/Monasterevin on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-4.
Clane tore into the opposition from the start and were rewarded with two well taken goals in the first half. It was far from an easy win for Clane though as Ballykelly/Monasterevin fought back and gradually started to put points on the board. It was hard going for their forwards however, as time and time again the Clane backs swarmed around their opponents tackling and blocking.
A few outstanding Clane points in the second half appeared to knock a little bit of steam out of Ballykelly/Monasterevin although they kept coming back to try and retrieve the situation but met fierce resistance in the Clane backline.
On an evening when every Clane girl gave it their all, a few need special mention. Tegan D’Arcy was magnificent in the forward line and got some fantastic scores. Seoirse Gillman ran herself tirelessly in midfield and very little got by Tara Glynn and her other outstanding defenders.
The Clane panel for the evening was:
Cliodhna Connolly, Sinead Cribbin, Molly Fitzpatrick, Niamh Palmer, Niamh Whistler, Tara Glynn, Emily Casey, Seoirse Gillman, Molly Nason, Lucy McCann, Niamh Fennessy, Tegan D’Arcy, Rebecca Devine, Lauren Deay, Caoimhe Shanahan, Shannon Lynch, Caoilfhinn Hallissy, Shauna feeney, Dearbhla Martin, Rachel O’Loughlin, Christine Donahger

U21 Football and Hurling semifinals 2010 Match Reports
As the 2010 Club GAA calender draws to a close, it’s good to see that Clane are still involved in football and hurling championship action. It may be mid-November but this weekend (Nov 13/14) saw the penultimate rounds of the U21 championship take place in both codes.
Clane 1-14 Celbridge 0-13
On Saturday 13th November, the footballers were in action against Celbridge at St Conleths Park, Newbridge on a very typical November afternoon – bitterly cold with frequent showers making playing conditions very difficult. In truth, it won’t go down as a classic but Tom Cribbin, Brian Murphy and Billy Farrell will not worry too much about that. The first half of this encounter was lacking in intensity with Celbridge coming out marginally on top in the opening half hour. Indeed, Clane had to depend on Danny Egan from placed balls and a Cathal Maguire effort from thirty metres to stay in touch as Celbridge took a grip on the middle third. Celbridge, however, did not convert their territorial advantage onto the scoreboard and what was also notable was that Robbie Eyres was never really tested between the Clane posts. Credit to a hard working defense well marshalled by Niall Brennan and Noel Haverty in the centre.Equally though it was the Celbridge defense who controlled matters at the opposite end. What was to prove a significant switch took place approaching the break when Karl Darragh had to depart proceedings to be replaced by Cian Kilkenny. Kilkenny took up station in the corner and was a real thorn in the Celbridge defense for the remainder of the game. At half time, the men in blue had opened up a 0-07 to 0-04 lead and so it was Clane who were going to have to answer the bigger questions in the second period.
The second thirty minutes began in much the same vein as the first half had ended and when Celbridge opened up a five point lead after eight minutes one wondered where the inspiration was going to come from. Suddenly, Clane upped the tempo which seemed to coincide with another substitution – the introduction of Ryan McGrath. His enthusiasm seemed to inspire those around him. Now Clane were a different outfit and playing with a swagger that didn’t appear to be there in the previous thirty nine minutes. Both wing backs, Eoin Kelly and Craig Gartland, were raiding. There was noticably more movement in the Clane forwards but none more so than from Conor Murphy. He was simply terrorising the Celbridge full back. In a ten minute spell midway through the second half we saw the best football provided by any Clane team in 2010. The All-Whites hit 1-05 without reply and each score was better than the last. A fine solo effort from Eoin Kelly, two absolute monsters from no. 14 Conor Murphy, a trademark gem from Danny Egan and when Egan converted from the spot with no little ’Egan Calmness’, the spirit was ripped from Celbridge hearts. That score pushed Clane four points to the good, 1-12 to 0-11. From here, there was no way back with Clane dominant in almost every sector. Barry Egan was an inspiration at corner back during this revival as was Bernard Deay who repeatedly won ball in the midfield area and cut through the Celbridge defense to set up the vital scores. Fitting also maybe that the final score of the contest should fall to the afore mentioned Cian Kilkenny. He put alot of ball throough his hands and that effort left the final tally 1-14 to 0-13 in Clane’s favour.
Clane advance to the 2010 U21 decider against Athy in seven days time.
Team: Robbie Eyres, Karl O Sullivan, Niall Brennan, Barry Egan, Eoin Kelly, Noel Haverty, Craig Gartland, Karl Martin, Peter Conroy, Karl Darragh, Danny Egan, Paul Hunt, Cathal Maguire, Conor Murphy, Bernard Deay. Subs: Cian Kilkenny for Darragh, Ryan McGrath for Conroy, Gary Hunt forMaguire.
U21 Hurling Report
Clane 6-13 Kilcock 0-03
Sunday 14th November was thankfully a more pleasant day meteorlogically speaking. It was U21 Hurling semi final day and Clane were to get home advantage due to the fact that so many other grounds in the county were unplayable as a result of the recent heavy rainfall. The opposition was provided by neighbours Kilcock who were making their first appearance in this years competition while Clane had the benefit of an earlier round against Maynooth. This was to prove significant as Clane simply sprinted out of the blocks. Questions may be asked as to why Clane are competeing in Division 2 of this competition. While the Benny Langan/David Harney/David Cafferty trained outfit can only play the opposition that’s put in front of them, it would appear that this side would have been extremely competitive for any side in Division 1. That said they have won nothing yet but must now be favourites to claim the silverware against Broadford in two weeks from now.
The pattern of the game was clear from an early stage as team captain Chris Bonus easily skipped away from a leaden defense to crash an effort off the upright. The goals did come shortly afterwards as did some fine points with literally no reply from Kilcock in the entire opening thirty minutes. This would have to be credited to a defense of Cillian Ryan, Sean Christanseen, Eoin Kilbride, Ryan McGrath and Colm Giffney. An interval lead of 4-07 to 0-00 allowed the Clane management team the opportunity of resting some dual players in the second period following the exertions of the previous evenings work. Centre back, Ryan McGrath, didn’t even make it to the short whistle as the big hearted former All Ireland minor medal winner had to succumb to the toil of full blooded effort on consecutive days. Clane were also to line out without Robbie Eyres who was carrying a slight injury following the previous day’s football. Other dual players who featured on the day were Danny Egan and Craig Gartland in the middle of the field with the stylish Bernard Deay opperating in the forwards. The only contest that could possibly be discussed after the final whistle had sounded was who hit the score of the game. There were a number of fine efforts in the mix – Danny Egan admired his own point when he fielded a puck out on the 65 and returned it with interest over the crossbar, substitute Eoghan Bracken’s white flag from the tightest of angles on the sideline, Bernard Deay’s point from underneath the covered stand which sailed over or David Gibbon’s point which initially seemed destined for outer space before returning with a curl that pulled it inside the upright. Either way all scores amounted to a final tally of 6-13 to Kilcock’s 0-03.
The final is scheduled for two weeks time with Clane being the likely venue.
Team: Paddy McKenna, Sean Christanseen, Cillian Ryan, Eoin Kilbride, Ryan McGrath, Colm Giffney, Danny Egan, Craig Gartland, Peter Conroy, David Gibbons, Bernard Deay, Hugh Giffney, Chris Bonus. Subs: James McCreevy for McGrath, Sean O Rourke for Egan, Tom Darcy for Conroy, Eoghan Bracken for H Giffney.

There will be a charge of €2 per child each night or €5 per family to cover lighting costs. We would appreciate if all children respect the code of silence in the car park areas as study is in progress within the College at these times.
Due to the ongoing works at the top pitch and poor recent weather it has been decided to cancel training for U9, U11, U13 and U15 ladies until after Christmas. All groups will be notified in the new year when training will recommence.
Congratulations to the U11 Ladies. Both teams recorded victories over Sarsfields last weekend. The girls have played 10 games this autumn losing just the once. Well done to all.
Many thanks to those parents who come out to support their daughters. You should be proud of their performances.
A mixed set of results last week for the girls against Naas. Team A won by a narrow margin, while team B had their first defeat of the season. No games this weekend. The final round is home to Sarsfields the following weekend. Date and time have yet to be confirmed.

U15 Football Champions
The curtain finally came down on Clane’s year on the GAA field today and what a finale to reach with the U15 footballers claiming the honours in this close and often intense battle with Raheens. The Caragh based club would have set out as favourites having won all their round robin series of games but the mantle of underdog seemed to inspire the men in white. The strength in depth of the Clane side was severely tested with a number of withdrawals in the week leading up to the final. It was a huge task to expect a positive result without players like Ciaran Quinn, Michael O’Reilly and Kenneth Forrest. Added to that was the loss of key midfielder Thomas Cribbin some weeks back with a serious hand injury.

Half-time team talk
On a very crisp December morning, in the wonderfully presented playing field at Raheens, it was the men in Saffron and Blue who set the scoreboard in motion. The first point came from a 13m free by Barry Winters after Darragh Callaghan dived to cut out what could have been a certain goal. Clane’s response was rapid with one of the scores of the game coming within a minute. A long clearance from Darragh Callaghan was superbly fielded in the middle of the park by Sean Christanseen who transferred inside to Sean O’Rourke. He turned and fired straight over from 30m. From the resultant kick out, Paddy McKenna won the ball out on the right wing and dispatched it straight back over the black spot.

With Clane in the ascendancy, it looked like a decent score could be put up and when Killian Patchell took a pass from Paddy McKenna, the fleet footed youngster raced away to make it 0:4 to 0:1 from 30m. A quick breakaway downfield from Raheens caught several defenders out of position and Clane were lucky when Dylan Hannon opted to fire over with the goal at his mercy. In the 14th minute, a fine passage of play ended when Killian Patchell broke clear and released to Kyle Judge on the edge of the square. Judge turned and blasted to the back of the net. Raheens kept in touch and even though they only added two more points in the remainder of the half, they had become stronger, especially in the half back line, which cut the supply to Clane’s inside forwards. Clane held the advantage at the break 1:4 to 0:4 after Paddy McKenna slotted a late free following a foul on Kyle Judge.

That winning feeling
On the resumption, Clane were first out of the blocks and a move instigated by Finn Moore, continued at pace through Darren O’Meara and Sean O’Rourke to Daire McLoughlin for a wonderful score. Shortly afterwards, Raheens were awarded a free 40m from goal which was driven in by Barry Winders, the ball broke for David Malone, he slammed his effort off the crossbar and it rebounded to safety. Minutes later Raheens came close when a strike by Jonathan Hanbury which ended up in the side netting.

Sean O’Rourke relieved the pressure when he slotted over following a foul on Mark Tutty 25m from goal. Once more, the upright denied Hanbury as Clane were forced to defend bravely. When Sean O’Rourke narrowly missed after a great build up at the three-quarter mark and Winders subsequently closed the gap for Raheens, an epic finish was about to unfold. First of all, Killian Patchell converted from close in to leave Clane 1:7 to 0:4 in front. An injury to Clane’s full back, Darragh Callaghan forced a reshuffle with Peter McCreevey going to the edge of the square and Cathal O’Brien being introduced. With Raheens now surging forward it was only a matter of time before Mark O’Shea was taking the ball out of his net from from a Jonathan Hanbury effort having first saved superbly at the feet of in-rushing Thomas Flannagan. The tension began to get to the players and in a three-minute spell Raheens were reduced to 13 following red cards to Dean Campbell and Hanbury. Winders then pointed to leave the minimum between the sides with three minutes remaining. Raheens continued to pile on the pressure and while Clane’s defence held firm, they still had to face a 45m free three minutes into stoppage time which sailed to the left and wide. When the final whistle sounded, celebrations could begin in earnest with Clane prevailing 1:7 to 1:6.

It took a real team effort with Darragh Callaghan and Peter McCreevey leading a great performance from the six defenders. Killian Patchell, Paddy McKenna and Sean O’Rourke led the charge up front. However, man of the match performance came from captain Sean Christanseen who was outstanding throughout especially in those last 15 minutes when strong defence was required. These are the days that make men out of boys! Congratulations to the team managers Pat Judge, John Christanseen and mentors Frank Cribbin, Joe Malone and Mick O Rourke.

Clane started playing against a strong breeze and the first points of the day was scored by Bernard Deay. Confey went on to score 7 consecutive points. 5 minutes before half time Danny Egan from Clane rifled a score which bombed the back of the net. Clane quickly followed by another point by Danny Egan. The score at half time was 1-2 to 0-7 to Confey.
In the second half Clane came out strong and quickly scored 4 more points – James McCreevey (0-1), Danny Egan (0-2), Niall O’Brien (0-1). Clane introduced 2 subs Warren Beale for Craig Gartland and Conor Murphy for Ryan McGrath. Conor Murphy immediately scored a point on his first touch of the ball. Clane were 3 points in front up to the last ten minutes when the pulled further away to win 1-13 to Confey’s 0-8.

In what was to be a very exciting match, Celbridge knocked Clane out of the Camogie Senior Championship 4-04 to 1-06.
Celbridge got off to a good start when Susie O’Carroll pounced on a loose ball and stuck it in the back of the net. Clane responded in the most emphatic fashion with Christine O’Reilly setting up a great goal for Paula Malcomson, but they had little time to celebrate as Susie O’Carroll took the ball and struck it over the bar. Clane did not have time to fight back as the ball landed in the Celbridge forward line and Laurie McDermott hit it low into the back of the net, giving Celbridge a four point lead. Paula Malcomson responded with a well aimed point, narrowing the gap. Susie O’Carroll scored another two goals before the half-time whistle, when the scoreline read 4-01 to 1-01.
Clane dominated the 2nd half of the match. Yvonne Lyons – who came on for Deirdre Grace – scored a great point from play, followed by another point from Ciara Smullen and a well struck long range point from Lisa O’Connor. Clane 1-11 Ardclough 0-11
In what turned out to be a thrilling final, Clane beat one of the county’s traditional hurling sides, Ardclough, by a single goal on Sunday 19th July to win the league.
In an intense final some tempers were a little frayed as both sides sought to bring glory to their respective clubs. Ardclough missed the first chance of the game before having to do some frantic defending down their own end as Clane tried to put one into the back of their net. Lorcan Harney was on target for Clane, scoring the first four points. Both sides missed many chances. When Ardcough’s Richie Hoban scored this was answered by a point from Niall Doolan from a distance. Ardclough hit two wides but Martin Fitzgerald managed to score a point only to have it cancelled by Lorcan Harney and Chris Bonus put another one over for Clane to see them in front. Clane stayed on top for the remainder of the first half.
In the second half Ardclough could only get back to level terms once. Chris Bonus came up trumps when he scored one to the back of the net.
Best for Clane was Lorcan Harney who worked hard all day.
Clane Team: Mark Maloney, Ciaran Murphy, Mike Walsh, Ciaran Brady, Dano Horan, David Harney, Alan Coary, Lorcan Harney 0-5, Niall Doolan 0-1, Dessie Walsh 0-1, Kevin Fogarty, Stephen Lyons, Chris Bonus 1-1. Subs: Aidan Dunne 0-1 for Fogarty, (injured), Killian Ryan for Murphy.
As Feile Officer for the club, I would like to congratulate everybody for putting the club on the map & as always leaving no stone unturned in what was a weekend to remember. The weekend started on Thursday evening when we hosted New York in a challenge game. On Friday, our three teams played Aodh Ruadh Dungannon, Hertfordshire & Claregalway with 2 out of 3 enjoying success – a great start for the weekend. After the Friday afternoon games, all players from each of the 6 teams were provided dinner before departing for the county grounds – the starting point of the parade.
The parade itself was full of colour & music where 160 teams marched in glorious sunshine from the county grounds down the town to Chill Mhuire church where they were met by their buses. On arrival back in the club, all visiting players were introduced to their host families where they retired for the night. There was also music in the club on Friday night & this proved to be a big hit to our visiting guests.
On Saturday morning our U14 boys team drew with Slaughtneil in their 2nd group game & won their 3rd game beating Kilcock however they lost out to Slaughtneil on points difference. Both our U13 boys & U14 girls team lost their remaining 2 group games over in Ballymore & Eadestown respectively.
Saturday afternoon saw Clane hosting the division 5 semi-finals with some great football being played before all players retired home for a bit of dinner & a shower before the big disco which was held in the hall for all the competing players based in Clane. The disco was a great hit with the kids & all seemed to enjoy it. Meanwhile Skidu provided music for all the visiting managers, mentors, club officials & supporters outside in the car-park in what was a night to remember & will last in everyone’s memories,
On Sunday morning it was time to say goodbye to our visiting teams and reflect on what had happened over the weekend.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to our chairman John Tutty & the executive committee for whom always helped with any request which we had. Secondly I would like to extend a huge thank Carol Tutty, Nancy Corrigan & Grainne Ryan. The 3 ladies helped out from the start when we started planning for this weekend & took on the task of coordinating a visiting team each over the whole weekend along with the 4 fundraising events which took place prior to the weekend.
A major round of applause must go to Teresa, Martina & the whole ladies committee who spent numerous hours over the weekend in the kitchen making sure that nobody left Clane hungry over the weekend – the work that each of these women did over the weekend was enormous but they took it in their stride as always. Fair play girls!!
A major thank you must go to Johnny Keating, Declan Corrigan, Bernie Gallagher & all whom helped out in preparing the pitches, decorating the club with bunting and had the club looking fabulous.
Also, we cannot forget the umpires & linesman who officiated at all the games & skills competition along with Ray Gleeson & Peter O’Neill whom facilitated a shop for supporters outside the pitch on Friday & Saturday.
Each of the Clane teams that participated over the weekend had all received new tracksuits & bags on Thursday night & this was all down to the efforts of Marie Woods in the club shop. I know that Marie had many long days & nights in the club over the last week or two so as to have everything spot on for the kids & mentors.
A huge thank-you must be extended to Pat McGrath & the minor football team that helped out in many ways over the weekend. The security which was clearly visible on Saturday night during the disco was a great sight & I’m sure that any parent present knew that their children were in safe hands for the evening.
The host families also deserve huge credit & thanks. Without them, the weekend would not have happened and they made sure that all the visiting players went home happy.
Finally, I would like to extend a massive thanks to Tom Cribbin & The Butchers Block for their generous sponsorship which went a long way to helping out the teams over the weekend.
If I forgot somebody I apologize & would like to thank them for all their help over the weekend – it was a huge community effort & everybody should take a bow.
Yours in sport.

“Hi Dave,
Thanks for your lovely E Maill. I also find it hard to believe that the weekend has come and gone so fast !
Since our return home each and every person who travelled to Clane has been talking about the fantastic weekend they had and reliving the craic over and over again and it must be said that this is solely down to the effort and organistion put in by yourself and the Clane club. On behalf of our U14 players, management and Committee I want express our sincere thanks for the fantastic welcome given to us by yourself and everyone associated with the club. Every question was answered and each and every small problem was dealt with. We couldnt have asked for a better host club and this made our experience of Feile all the better.
We would love to return the favour to your club and welcome any of your teams to visit Dungannon any time so we can repay some of the welcome you gave to us and as Louise said in her speeech we can maybe arrange for you’s to see Sam Maguire as well !

Football Matches v Celbridge 18th June 2009
Clane went to Celbridge on Thursday 18th June to play two under 8 matches. The Group 1 team lost narrowly while the Group 3 team won in a very tight match.
Group 1. Clane were missing a few players on the night but played very well and lost on a score of 12-9.
There was a very strong wind blowing down the pitch and Clane had it behind them for the first two quarters. However Clane wasted chances and were only 2 points clear at the start of quarter 3. Clane battled valiantly against the breeze but eventually lost 12- 9.
Clane Squad : Conor Comiskey, Kyle Grehan, Jake Hamilton, Daniel Vaughan, Cormac Vizzard, Liam Wright, John Ball, Colm Brien, Arron Connolly, Jack Malone, Sam Reilly,
Best for Clane : Arron Connolly, Daniel Vaughan and Liam Wright.
Group 3. This team were on a high after winning their last match against Kilcock. Celbridge had a very big panel so it was decided to play 12 a side. This led to a bit of a scrum at times but all the players were on the field for the full match.. Adam o’ Hagan played in goals in the first quarter and it was his first match for Clane. Celbridge had the wind for the first 2 quarters and were leading 4-1 at half time.
The Clane point came from Donal O’ Donovan again playing his first match for Clane.
However with the wind at our backs Clane scored at ease in the third and fourth quarter. Dean O’ Shea was running all over the field and succeeded in scoring 2 great points.Conor Lynch (younger brother of Sean) also made his debut and scored 2 points. The remainder of the scoring was done by Evan Kelly, Jamie McIntyre, Cian Burke and Eamon Little.Eamon Fitzgerald had a great game in the backs for Clane and made some great tackles.
Final score ; Clane 8 Celbridge 4.
Clane Squad: Adam O Hagan, Cormac Larkin, Conor Lynch, Evan Kelly, Luke Kelly, Dean Comiskey, Donal O’ Donovan, Eamon Little, Eamon Fitzgerald, Sean Woods, Jamie McIntyre, Jack Cahalane, John Lynch, Oisin Ward , Dean o’ Shea and Cian Burke.

Football Blitz in Johnstownbridge on Saturday 27th June 2009
Clane took part in a blitz last Saturday in Johnstownbridge. Clane had over 20 players available and the biggest problem was directing all the parents to the venue. Suffice to say that they will be able to make their way to Knockanally Golf Club in the future.
Clane were missing some of our speedier players as the semi finals of the Community Games athletics was on in Newbridge that morning. This deprived the team of Sean Connolly, Liam Wright, Sam Reilly and Eoin Twohig. Some more were gone away for the weekend but available players were excellent.
Clane were divided into two teams, Clane 1 and Clane 2.
Clane 1 played Celbridge 1, Carbury, Balyna1 and Balyna 2. Clane won all the games bar a narrow defeat to a very strong Celbridge team.
Clane 1 Squad : Colm Brien, Cormac Vizzard, Dean O’ Shea, Cian Burke, Conor Comiskey, John Ball, Daniel Vaughan, Kyle Grehan.
Best for Clane 1 : Kyle Grehan, John Ball, Colm Brien and Cian Burke.
Clane 2 played Celbridge 2 , St Kevins (twice) and Balyna 3.
The Celbridge match was very close and Clane lost 4-2. However they followed up with a draw with St. Kevins, a win against Balyna 3 and then an exciting rematch against St. Kevins. Kevins took an early lead and
despite all the play, Clane were hitting a lot of wides. However after a few missed frees, Dean Comiskey put
over the equaliser before Evan Kelly scored the winning point.. In the win over Balyna Eamon Fitzgerald score
2 goals and a point.
Clane 2 Squad : Conor Lynch, Evan Kelly , Luke Kelly, Jake Burke, Dean Comiskey, John Lynch, Josh Mooney, Eamon Fitzgerald, Eamon Little, Stephen Brereton, Jack Cahalane and Oisin Ward.
Best for Clane2 : John Lynch, Evan Kelly, Luke Kelly , Dean Comiskey and Eamon Fitzgerald.
Clane GAA want to thank Dan O Shea for sponsoring a set of jersies for the teams .
Also thanks is due to Johnstownbridge GAA who supplied all the teams , mentors and parents with drinks, sandwiches , cakes etc.
With the Feile football taking place this weekend , the club shop has Clane GAA flags & car flags for sale in the club shop. It would be great if we could support the club in having a bit of colour to our games our the weekend. The shop is open this Thursday evening @ 8.30pm
The feile football is taking place in the club this Friday & Saturday. The matches on Friday throw-in @ 2.45pm & 3.30pm. The Saturday matches starts @ 9.30am for the duration of the day with the semi-finals commencing at 4.30pm that evening. There will be music & entertainment in the club on both nights. All support very much welcome!
Clane entertained Sarsfields in two under 9 matches in Group 1 and Group 4.
Both matches were played in fabulous weather and in good sporting behaviour.
In Group 1 Clane had a very strong team on the day and won on a score of 13-4 but the game was a good deal closer than the score shows.Clane played well in all four quarters and Shane O’ Sullivan scored some lovely points. Iain Cribbin played very well in goals and Arron Connolly and Kyle Harrington were outstanding in the backs.
Final Score : Clane 13 Sarsfields 4.
Clane Squad: Mark Conville, Iain Cribbin, Sam Donovan, Niamh Fennessy, Kyle Harrington, Sam McCormack, Luke O’ Callaghan, Shane O’ Sullivan, Conor Ward, Adam Warner, Arron Connolly.
Best for Clane : Kyle Harrington, Shane O’ Sullivan, Mark Conville and Adam Warner.
The Group 4 game was much closer, Clane were captained by the Limerick man ,Kevin Robinson and he lead by example .Sarsfields had been unbeaten all year as had Clane so the winners would be top of the table.Clane started well and were 2 points up in the first quarter. Hugh Lonergan scored one of the points and was playing well in the forwards. However Sarsfields equalised by the end of the second quarter to leave the score tied at 2-2 at half time.
In the first two quarters, Clane had a slight hill so had to play against it for the last 2 quarters. The match was very close but in the final quarter Anthony Nsimba scored 2 great points from far out. Sarsfields got one back from a free so Clane were a point ahead entering the last minute.A ‘45’ was taken quickly by Sean Connolly to Liam Wright and he slotted it over the bar to complete the scoring.
Final Score: Clane 5 Sarsfields 3.
Clane Squad: Cian Burke, Conor Comiskey, Kyle Grehan, Jake Hamilton, Dean O’Shea, Daniel Vaughan, Cormac Vizzard, Liam Wright, Ryan Burke, Hugh Lonergan, Anthony Nsimba, Nathan Hackett , Sean Connolly, Kevin Robinson (captain)
Best for Clane: Hugh Lonergan, Anthony Nsimba, Nathan Hackett , Sean Connolly , Liam Wright and Conor Comiskey.
