Clane U14 ‘s defeated Larries in the league semi final on a score line of 1-12- to 0-7 and now play Sarsfield in the final  in Kilcullen on Saturday.

The halftime score was Clane 1-5, Larries 0-4.

U14 Feile “A” Eadestown v Clane

Sunday 13th March 2011

Clane defeated home team Eadestown on a score line of 2-13 to 1-2 to qualify for the play-offs of the Feile A championship, while Eadestown who are playing at the grade for first time now enter the Shield Competition. The game was played in Aortic like conditions and was well refereed by the one and only Sham Moran.

Clane dominated midfield in the early stage and points quickly followed from Danny Callan and two from Ciaran Kelly. Jack McCreevy pointed a free and Brian McLoughlin scored a goal and a point from play. Eadestown responded with points from Niall Cummins and Ronan Slattery. Evan Gilman scored a second Clane goal and followed up with a quick point, while Ethan O Donoghue, Ciaran Kelly and Danny Callan completed the scoring to leave the half time score line  Clane 2-9 to Eadestown 0-2.

Clane dominated the early stages of the second half and Brian McLoughlin then kicked three early points from play, while the energetic Chris Byrne kicked a great point following a great run from defense by Kyle Devey to complete the Clane scoring.

Eadestown who played with the wind in the second half scored a well deserved goal when a Chris Brady shot was deflected to his own net by Brian Corbett.

Clane were best served by Patrick O’Soichru,Kyle Devey,Ciaran Flaherty  and Keith O Neill in defense, Ethan O Donoghue and Chris Byrne  made some great run from midfield, while Ciaran Kelly, Danny Callan and Brian McLoughlin know where the post are when  scoring opportunities are created.

Eadestown defended heroically with impressive performances from full back John Slattery, centre back Owen Kelly, and midfielders Mikey Quinn (Son of former soccer International Niall) and Ronan Slattery.
