After a massive weekend for the club last weekend where we hosted the very successful Playing Fields Music Festival, this weekend it's back to the hustle and bustle of the championship for our senior footballers; our U13 Hurlers also kick off their autumn league campaign. Read on...

The Playing Fields

What a weekend we had at Clane Gaa last Saturday and Sunday. The weather was superb, the bands were amazing, showcasing the very best of Irish Music and the crowd was buzzing. The atmosphere was just the best and it was all made possible by bringing together everyone from across our community - you our members, our staff, our patrons, local residents, all of our hard working volunteers & youth volunteers, our sponsors AND all coordinated and led by the hard work and dedication of The Playing Fields festival organising committee and the sub-committees.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from across all sections of the community and also from the bands themselves - The Stunning said we "set the new standard for Irish Festivals, how artists should be treated and how brilliant the festival was". Check out all the photos, videos on social media at the following links

We will host a celebration night for all volunteers on Saturday night, September 14th from 9pm at the GAA club and we look forward to seeing you all there.

And the best news is that we will be doing it all again in 2020 so watch out for the announcement very soon and the chance to purchase early bird tickets!

Fixtures Update

The big match this weekend sees our Senior Football team return to championship action in their Round 3 fixture against Round Towers in Hawkfield on Saturday afternoon with a 2.45pm throw-in.

Our U13 Division 1 hurlers will start their autumn league campaign with a tough fixture at home to Eire Óg CC on Friday evening at 6.45pm on the main pitch, while our Division 3 team will play host to Cappagh at the same time on the top pitch.

Our U14 Footballers face a trip to play Castlemitchell on Sunday morning at 10.30am in their 3rd round fixture.

Meanwhile our Minor Footballers and Hurlers recorded fine wins this week in their corresponding fixtures. Our hurlers are playing in an amalgamated team with Kilcock (called St. Michaels) and ran out deserved winners against Moorefield on Monday evening by 5-14 to 3-15, despite a scare late on when Moorefield took the lead for the first time in the game. On Wednesday evening our minor footballers also survived a scare against Leixlip; they were well in command of the game but conceded a couple of scores in quick succession to find themselves a point down with 10 mins left. The team knuckled down and used the bench wisely to wrestle back control and won well in the end by 1-15 to 2-6.

Our Minor footballers are in action again on Sept. 5th at 12pm in Hawkfield against Sarsfields.

Please get out and support our teams and keep an eye on our web site clanegaa.ie for all fixtures and results updates. If you are at the matches please tweet the score updates and include @clanegaa in your tweet so we can keep our members updated on the scores.
